THE TOP 9 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT: Maestra Gonzales

(IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)

1. I was actually born in Mexico

I was born in a beautiful state called Jalisco and had the opportunity to come to California at the age of 2 years old. I grew up in a small town called Hilmar which is rich in agriculture and many small-town traditions.

2. Proud of my roots and traditions

I can't wait to teach and share with your children about all the fun and colorful traditions this country offers as well as other Latin American countries. I want them to fall in love with all the world can offer when you are able to learn a new language.

3. CSU Stan Warrior

I had the amazing opportunity to stay local and obtain my higher education and Multiple Subject credential in Bilingual education in my current home town Turlock.

4. I have a pretty awesome Husband that roots for me and for our favorite baseball team.

We make an awesome team together and we both also enjoy rooting for our favorite team the Los Angeles Dodgers.

5. Mother to an adorable fur child called Corbin

6. I am a Disney nerd!!!

I enjoy going to Disneyland with my husband and friends and being a child again, and in my free time, I love watching all Disney movies.

7. Passion for Confection

Life would not be fun if we did not have many passions. Along with teaching another passion of mine is baking and creating delicious edible creations such as cakes, cookies, cupcakes and any recipe that looks like a yummy challenge.

8. TECHNOLOGY IS MY PASSION!

I truly believe that technology can open many doors and possibilities to be successful in a classroom and that is exactly what we do in my classroom. I have discovered many wonderful resources that can help our students be successful and actually have fun and love learning as much as I love to learn from them myself.

9. Why I Love Bilingual Education

I once was a student in a dual immersion school and had the amazing opportunity to have talented and passionate teachers and dedicated parents that taught and it made me fall in love with education but even more with my language development. My mother was a Kindergarten teacher in Mexico and left her career to give me more opportunities in this country. Little did I know I followed her footsteps and her dream to change little minds by also to teach them a new language that they will learn to fall in love as much as I do. I could not ask for a better team such as my Collegeville Elementary staff.
