Welcome Back to School

Dear Collegeville School Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! The staff at Collegeville is very much looking forward to serving the needs of your student and helping them to grow and learn in the weeks and months ahead.

New school years are often accompanied by changes, and this year is no exception. We have four new members of the Collegeville family I would like you to help me welcome: Tulia Cobian (1st grade), Janally Juárez-Acosta (2nd grade), Emily Blevins (3rd grade) and Terri Romero (4th grade). In addition George Megenney will be Farmington and Collegeville school’s principal. Mr. Megenney has been working for Escalon schools since 2006 in varied roles including serving as a Spanish teacher at Escalon High School as well as principal of Vista High School. I think that I can speak for all of us when I say that we are excited and looking forward to new challenges and to serving our students.

If your student is entering first grade, a list will be posted outside of the main office on August 1st indicating your student's teacher and classroom. If you need assistance signing up your child for food or transportation services please ask for assistance in the main office where Maira Rodriguez, our school site secretary can assist you. If you plan on being a classroom volunteer, please let Maira know so that we can arrange for TB testing with our School District nurse.

This year Back to School night will be held on August 20th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. In years past Back to School night was placed on the calendar a bit earlier. After having a discussion with the staff a decision was made to give students and teachers a little bit of time to become familiar with one another and for teachers to provide students with the actual experience of classroom routines. Our intention is to make Back to School Night more useful for everyone.

Back to School Night Schedule:

Time: Event: Location:

5:30-5:45 Staff Introductions Cafeteria

5:50-6:30 Classroom presentations Classrooms

We look forward to a productive and positive school year for all of our students and families.

Sincerely,

George Megenney
